tough morning...

ALLI strong this AM, while BLDR the one I liked more broke it's pricing.....I still believe ALLI is going to struggle on the bottom line going forward. However it appears that ALLI being a small offering of the type(niche healthcare) that has done well the past 5 years while BLDR increased offering size by 1 million(2 million more from insiders) tilted the playing field early...when in doubt go with the smaller offering. 

I passed on ALLI, giving up a potential $2 quick aftermarket trade, while taking a 40 cent loss on BLDR when it broke pricing....not my finest moment! 

I'm having problems locating any real great opportunities out there in offerings from the past 5 years.  I think ctrn/lhcg/prai offer good mid-term risk-reward at these prices but that's about it. I'm waiting on PAY to come back, as well as sma/gfig/rail/morn/tlp and a few others.....just not a lot of ideal set-ups for me out there at the moment---unlike a month or so ago.

as far as these things go, this one looks fine....tough sector right now, this should price low enough to yield 14-15% initially, whether it does well or not really depends on bulk rates/shipping in general rebounding the back half of the year as they have in '03/'04. If were headed into a worldwide slowdown, than of course these kind of stocks will perform much like they did back 1/2 of '0, which wasn't pretty......I'm not smart enough to know which scenario plays out, which is why on any ipo I stop out on a break of pricing/re-evaluate. This one will be coming without any pricing/initial aftermarket enthusiasm unlike recent issues DRYS/DSX both of which hit when spot dry bulk rates were 30-50% higher.

will have LINC/ALLI up by this evening, plugging thru all 18 of this/next week's offerings.

very unique structure...I fear it may open in the $25 range which is more than I'm willing to pay. However it definitely gets points for creativity.
